Pound Technology® expands their line of HDMI cables to include the Sony Playstation 2

Irvine, California (Oct. 15, 2018) – Pound Technology®, the leading manufacturer of integrated circuit HDMI cables for classic video game consoles, announced today the expansion of their HD Link Cables to include the iconic Sony Playstation 2 (PS2) entertainment system. The company, which prides itself on bringing high quality, low-cost cables to the market, has already released HD Link Cables for the original Xbox and Dreamcast to great fanfare.

Features:

  • Works with both the Playstation 2 and Playstation 1 sytems

  • Works with Playstation 1, PSX Games on the Playstation 2

  • Excellent RGB video quality

  • 6.6 feet cable length

  • Breakaway design

  • Includes 6ft USB-A to micro USB cable with cable management tie offs to provide power

The development of this cable took more than six months as Pound meticulously optimized every possible feature. One major decision that split the team was 480 progressive scan mode. A little-known feature available on a small number of PS2 games.

“In the end, we left out 480p mode because it interfered with our desire to support the Playstation 1 system”, said Paul Leung, one of the partners of Pound Technology. “Some gamers will be disappointed with our decision but, when balanced against the entire PS1 library, we had to let it go.”

“We are delighted to offer the best solution for gamers who want to hook up their old PS2 and PS1 systems to a modern television”, says Denny. “In addition to Amazon we are pleased to begin offering our cables through Limited Run.”

Pricing & Availability:

The HD Link Cable for the Playstation 2 will be available for pre-order through Limited Run for $29.99 with an expected delivery date of November 15th. (https://limitedrungames.com/products/pound-technology-ps2-ps1-hdmi-cable)
