hd link - DREAMCAST
The Dreamcast was far ahead of its time with groundbreaking graphics and processing. With the HD Link cable for Dreamcast you can finally take things a little further and enjoy maximum video quality and convenient setup with your modern HD television.
We use the Dreamcast's native VGA signal and convert it to digital HDMI. Because of that, some games that are not VGA compatible will not work.
PLUG AND PLAY
Seamlessly links your old system to a modern television via HDMI with no adapters or power supplies.
Maximum possible video quality and compatible with all modern TVs. Video quality based on media capability and is not limited by the cable. Games that are native 480i or 720p will run in their respective resolutions.
If you want your original Dreamcast system to connect to your television via HDMI then the HD Link Cable is the best and only all-in-one integrated solution. We pull directly from the VGA signal on the Dreamcast for maximum video quality.
Do we sell outside of the US?
Unfortunately Amazon has some sort of rule that they need to monitor a new product for up to 30 days after release before allowing international purchases. We're trying to have them review the product a bit sooner but so far no luck. Sorry about the delay but it will eventually open up to international orders.
The image on the screen seems to be shifted to one side?
This is a known issue on certain Dreamcast models and varies based on where the Dreamcast was manufactured. What's more; the position of the image may vary by game. Most Dreamcast games have a setting to correct for this in their in-game settings. Unfortunately this is not a by product of the cable and can only be fixed through in-game settings and TV picture adjustments.
What's in the box?
The HD link cables come with the HD LINK unit. The cable is plug and play so setup is easy and straightforward.
Do the images upscale?
Our cable only passes through the Dreamcast's native display to your TV. Resolution will depend completely on the media you've inserted as well as your television's ability to display the image.
Will non-VGA games still play?
Because our cable pulls directly from the VGA signal, it's not likely that non-VGA compatible games will work with our cable.
The cable is sold out!
We're so sorry! We are definitely rushing to get it restocked, even resorting to air freight for fulfillment to try to make up as much time as we can. We know people are selling our cables with inflated prices. While we understand the concept of supply and demand we'd like to discourage our customers from purchasing a $30 product for, often, double or triple the price. The best way to find out when we restock is by follow us on Facebook, we make all our announcements there.
